Background of the Organization

Mallarani Rural Development Concern Centre (MRDCC) is a not for profit non-governmental organization committed to provide multiple services in the community through social mobilization. It is the first social organization established in Pyuthan and has been registered in District Administration Office with Reg. no. 01/2039/040. This organization has it’s own social entity as the lead NGO in the district. It has been aligned in Social Welfare Council and NGO federation of Nepal. MRDCC submits its annual progress report and audit reports to DAO, SWC and other concerned agencies regularly. The main target of this organization is to improve the socio-economic status of poor, women, small farmers, socially excluded community, minorities and indigenous nationalities living in rural sector through community empowerment and forming community based organizations.

The concept and strategies it is applying for program implementation are as follows:

  • Partnership: Effective coordination and partnership with service providers, service grantees and related stakeholders.
  • Right based approach: Sensitization, advocacy and campaigning to assure the local people’s right on local development.
  • Resource mobilization: To capacitate the community for the identification and mobilization of natural, human and institutional resources.
  • Institutional Development: To develop the beneficiaries group as CBOs, Cooperative and Companies for their sustainability.

Vision

To make empowered rural community and equitable peaceful society activated in self humanitarian development with hygienic, healthy and climate smart environment.

Mission

  • To make prepare base of sustainable development based on social justice coordinating for exploration and mobilization of internal and external resources with direct and effective participation of local community.
  • To ensure the issues of gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and climate change mitigation in each program and activities.

Goal

  • To mobilize youths in creative and social welfare sectors creating mutual cooperation, coordination and well understanding among them.
  • To play effective role for positive transformation of society empowering marginalized, vulnerable and other targeted communities.
  • To mobilize human resources for capacitating in economic, social, physical and humanitarian development of deprived, disable, women and child which are excluded from the mainstreaming of peace and development.

Immediate Objectives

  • To develop framework (baseline) for sustainable development through social mobilization and community empowerment.
  • To enhance the mutual cooperation among economically and socially excluded people and to operate various promotional activities for the improvement of their socio economic status.
  • To operate various activities to aware community on human fundamental rights, social justice, good governance and peace building.
  • To implement program on
    • Bio-diversity identification, conservation and promotion.
    • Forest and environment conservation and climate change mitigation.
    • Health, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene.
    • HIV prevention and rehabilitation of PLHIV.
    • Disaster risk reduction.
    • Entrepreneurship and value chain development based on agro-forest products.
Values and working policy of the organization:
  • All the decisions are taken with common consensus and all the activities and transactions of the organization are transparent.
  • The organization organizes public hearing, public review and public audit of the projects.
  • MRDCC has it’s own financial law and it is rigorously followed within the organization.
  • Human resource development (HRD) activities are being launched regularly in the organization.
  • No members of the executive board do work as project staffs of the organization.
  • Coordination and linkages are established with all the stakeholders. Partnership concept is adopted for the effective implementation of the program.
  • The organization does not discriminate the people on the basis of ethnicity, sex, religion etc. But special priority are being given to economically and socially deprived people as per the policy of the state.
  • MRDCC concentrates mostly in socio economic empowerment of the targeted group through social mobilization in the rural sector.
  • The organization has adopted Logical Framework Approach (LFA) to make plan effective and realistic. It develops indicators of the progress and means of verification. During the initial stage it analyzes the overall impact and risk factors of the project. The organization evaluates and monitors the project accordingly.
